Police in Dnipro apprehended a 28-year-old local man in connection with a series of robberies at retail establishments.

On January 15, the police received reports of thefts at stores in the Shevchenkivskyi district. An unidentified individual was taking items from the shelves, concealing them under his outer clothing, and attempting to exit the premises unnoticed. However, he was thwarted each time by the anti-theft gates at the exit. Store employees tried to catch up with the man, but he managed to escape. The crimes occurred at retail establishments located on European Boulevard and along Dmytro Yavornytskyi Avenue.

Officers from Police Department №4 of the Dnipro District Police Department №1 have apprehended a 28-year-old suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The stolen items have been seized.

The investigators have informed the detainee of his suspicion under part 4 of Article 186 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man could face up to 10 years in prison for the committed crimes. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
