A man was arrested in Zaporizhzhia for robbing a war veteran. Authorities took swift action to apprehend the suspect involved in the attack.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region.

It has been preliminarily established that a 32-year-old man, known to the 50-year-old victim and who uses drugs and alcohol, approached him on the street. Initially, he asked for money, and upon receiving a refusal, he punched the man in the face and knocked him to the ground. The victim was unable to defend himself due to his health condition – he has a combat injury.

Taking advantage of the man's helplessness, the assailant snatched his phone and fled.

The law enforcement officers located the attacker and apprehended him based on Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Currently, the suspect has been informed of the charges related to the crime stipulated in part 4 of Article 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
