In Dnipro, a deserter was apprehended for allegedly assisting conscripts in fleeing the country.

Officials from the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) uncovered and halted an illegal channel facilitating the exit of military personnel to European countries, orchestrated by a deserter from Kharkiv. In April 2024, the individual abandoned their place of service and relocated to Dnipro.

It has been established that the perpetrator sent "client" unfilled travel forms with seals from one of the law enforcement agencies via mail. After filling in his details in the documents, the client easily reached Chernivtsi, where he was met by an accomplice of the organizer – a local law enforcement officer.
This information was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR).

During searches of the suspects' vehicles, 17 copies of passports belonging to potential clients were seized. All obtained information is being examined within the framework of the criminal proceeding. The organizer has been detained and informed of the suspicion of desertion and illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine, committed by a group of individuals in collusion (Part 4 of Article 408 and Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The penalties for these offenses include imprisonment for up to 12 years.
