A 25-year-old assailant was arrested by Kryvyi Rih police for fatally beating a city resident.

In a modular shelter, a heated argument broke out between men, during which the assailant struck the 37-year-old victim multiple times. The man succumbed to his injuries a few days later in the hospital.

The crime occurred on the night of January 22 in the Metallurgical district of the city. Officers from police station No. 2 of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department identified the assailant. He turned out to be a 25-year-old local resident.

Based on the collected evidence, investigators, in coordination with the Kryvyi Rih Southern District Prosecutor's Office, informed the suspect of his charges under Article 121, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The assailant was placed in custody as a preventive measure. The suspect faces up to 10 years of imprisonment.
