Subsequently, the perpetrators entered false information into medical documents and the information system “Monitoring Socially Significant Diseases.” These manipulations allowed “sick” men to remove themselves from military registration and cross the state border of Ukraine without hindrance.
For the opportunity to evade military service in this manner, the men paid the involved parties 10 thousand dollars.
The law enforcement officers, with the support of the TOR special unit of the Patrol Police Department, conducted 19 searches at the places of registration and residence of the suspects, as well as in their offices and vehicles. They seized, among other items, computer equipment, medical documentation, and other materials that confirm the owners' involvement in illegal activities.
Currently, the police are investigating a criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Article 362 (Unauthorized actions with information processed in electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks, or stored on carriers of such information, committed by a person who has access to it), and Part 3 of Article 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise, or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The suspects face imprisonment for up to 10 years, along with a prohibition on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years, and confiscation of property.
