An ex-policeman in Zaporizhzhia will face trial for sharing confidential information with representatives of a funeral service.

Prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office have submitted an indictment to the court against a former law enforcement officer for the unauthorized dissemination of restricted information and the unlawful collection, use, and distribution of confidential personal information (Part 1 of Article 361-2 and Part 1 of Article 182 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Перед судом в Запорожье окажется экс-полицейский за утечку конфиденциальной информации представителям ритуальной службы.

According to the investigation, an employee of a structural unit of the police department in the region, having access to the information and communication system "Information Portal of the National Police of Ukraine," received confidential data regarding individuals who suddenly passed away in the Zaporizhzhia area and its suburbs, which he "timely" relayed to a business entity providing funeral services via the messenger.

The daily monitoring of such information was carried out at his request by his wife, to whom he had given his login and password for system access. The woman was unaware of her husband's criminal intentions.

Law enforcement has documented over 300 instances of the dissemination of such confidential information.

The suspect has now been dismissed from the police force.
