In Synelnykove, police have charged a 39-year-old local man with drug-related fraud.

While undergoing substitution maintenance therapy, the offender entered into an agreement with one of the medical facilities for drug addicts to obtain medication containing the narcotic substance methadone at a pharmacy. After that, he went to another medical institution and, through deception, made a similar agreement with them, fully aware of the prohibition.

Based on the collected evidence, investigators, in coordination with the Synelnykove District Prosecutor's Office, informed the man of his suspicion under part 2 of Article 308 (theft, appropriation, extortion of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogs, or obtaining them through fraud or abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this article provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
