However, the reality tells a different story: buildings that were supposedly repaired, such as the one at 17 Mezhevoy Street, exhibit cracks in the load-bearing walls following the "major repairs" carried out by hostile contractors. Genuine repairs have yet to occur, and the allocated funds for restoration have vanished without a trace.

Local collaborators have launched a scheme to launder Kremlin funds for the "restoration" of the bombed Mariupol. Contractors are hired through intermediary firms, creating only the illusion of work being done. Meanwhile, propagandists are producing videos that depict an illusory prosperity in the city.
