Ukraine and France have signed a grant agreement worth 200 million euros for infrastructure restoration. This was reported by Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, as conveyed by UNN.
Details
This initiative aims to enhance cooperation for the economic recovery of Ukraine, particularly in areas such as healthcare, energy, water supply, demining, digital technologies, infrastructure, agriculture, waste processing, and housing construction.
The agreement was signed by representatives of Ukraine along with the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Gaël Veyssière. This follows the agreements reached in June in the presence of Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron.
In total, up to half of the grant amount may be used for the purchase of Ukrainian goods and services, while the remainder will be for French products. The French side will determine the procedures and projects that will receive funding.
Additionally, an agreement was reached in May to expand the mandate of the AFD (Agence Française de Développement) group to operate in Ukraine. The opening of offices for French organizations will facilitate the provision of financial support in the form of loans, grants, and guarantees.
