Four violators who planned to swim across the Tisza River at midnight were apprehended 100 meters from the border in Transcarpathia. This was reported by the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine - Western Border, according to UNN.

According to border guards, a patrol from the "Vylok" department of the Mukachevo unit spotted the individuals near the state border. They were detained 100 meters from the border. Two of the men were residents of Ivano-Frankivsk region, while the other two were from Zhytomyr and Transcarpathia.
The detained individuals stated that for their "journey," two of them paid smugglers $6,500 and $8,000, while the other two were supposed to pay $13,000 each. For this amount, the smugglers assured their clients that they would be able to cross into Hungary without any obstacles.
Protocols were drawn up against all detainees for administrative offenses as provided by Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine."
