A drunk driver without a license caused an accident in Dnipro, leading to patrol officers holding the offender accountable.

On Saturday, February 1st, around midnight, a patrol crew witnessed an incident on Lesia Ukrainka Avenue. A driver of a Honda vehicle failed to yield to a tram while turning from Sviatoslav the Brave Street onto Lazar Hloba Street, resulting in a collision. Both vehicles sustained mechanical damage. However, the driver fled the scene of the accident. The patrol officers managed to catch up with and stop him.

During the conversation with a 21-year-old driver, the police noticed signs of alcohol intoxication. The man underwent testing with a Dräger device, which confirmed that he was driving under the influence — his blood alcohol level was 0.99 promille.

It was also revealed that the individual had never obtained a driver's license and did not have mandatory insurance coverage. The inspectors compiled 5 administrative reports against him: for part 1 and part 5 of Article 126 (Driving a vehicle without the proper documents and without a license again), Article 122-4 (Leaving the scene of an accident), Article 124 (Traffic violations that resulted in damage to vehicles), and part 1 of Article 130 (Driving under the influence) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The driver was removed from operating the vehicle.
