This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials identified the offender. He turned out to be a 36-year-old local resident with a prior criminal record. It was revealed that the individual owed money for electricity, and, following a relevant order, the electricity company employees arrived to disconnect the service. However, the offender disagreed with this action.
Seeing the police, the suspect became even more enraged. He picked up a stone and threw it at the police vehicle. He then grabbed an axe and threatened the officers with it.
The attacker was apprehended and informed of his suspicion under Part 1 of Article 296 (hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 345 (threats against a law enforcement officer, specifically, threats of murder against a law enforcement officer and their close relatives in connection with the performance of their official duties) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
