The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has already begun reviewing the legitimacy of the decisions made by the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) regarding disability status for men aged 18 to 60, which were made during the state of martial law. This was announced on Tuesday, October 22, by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, as reported by UNN.

Details

It is noted that over 90,000 cases have been reassessed, and cooperation with law enforcement agencies has commenced, leading to arrests and the issuance of suspicions; however, these outcomes are insufficient.

As a result, the heads of the Central Medical and Social Expert Commission of the Ministry of Health, along with other related institutions and staff responsible for this area, have been dismissed.

Currently, there is a public discussion on a new draft law that aims to conduct medical and social expertise in clustered hospitals, incorporating digital solutions and enhancing accessibility for patients.

Recall

Zelensky reported that during a National Security and Defense Council meeting regarding the situation with MSEC and abuses by officials from various state bodies concerning disability claims, a list of decisions was established to restore justice. This includes the digitization of processes for all stages of the medical and social expert commissions and a thorough verification of the declarations of MSEC members.

President Zelensky demands the development of a draft law that will provide for the dissolution of medical and social expert commissions by December 31, 2024.
