A 46-year-old man in Dnipro has been charged with shooting a rival due to jealousy and injuring a woman in the process, according to law enforcement officials.

After committing the crime, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended on Victory Embankment. The police confiscated grenades, smoke bombs, knives, and a hunting rifle from the suspect's vehicle.

On Sunday, January 19, at approximately 11:20 PM, the police received a report of gunshots heard in the Samarsky district of the city. At the scene, the investigative team discovered the body of a man with gunshot wounds. It was determined that the victim's acquaintance had arrived at her home, but another man was visiting her. Enraged, the suspect fired more than 10 shots from a hunting rifle at the man and also shot the woman in the leg several times. The 21-year-old guest died at the scene from his injuries.

On January 20, investigators informed the suspect of charges related to criminal offenses under Part 1 of Article 115 and Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
