A 14-year-old in the Odesa region accidentally shot his friend in the head with a father's rifle while showing it off.

In the Odesa region, in one of the settlements of the Avangard community, a teenager shot his friend in the head. The incident occurred on January 4 involving two boys aged 14 and 16, as reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region, according to UNN.

As established by law enforcement, the 14-year-old boy was left home alone without adults and decided to show his older friend, who had come to visit, his father's carbine. While handling the weapon, the boy accidentally discharged it, hitting his older friend.

The injured party was taken to the Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
